| Dining in Amsterdam
restaurants
The designation Dutch cuisine is
no joke any more. Amsterdam exceeded its
geographical attitude on a country, which is best to
grow the Kohl plants, the carrots and to the cows.
Many of the famous greenhouses grow an respectable
row of more sensitive and frequently more organic
components, and the traveled cook's of the city make
full use of them. Of course visitors should try the
traditional larva (the carrots taste particular
completely better, if you know that Dutch royalists
17th-century grew it for its orange color). And you
must not miss such homegrown delicacies
such as herrings, shrimp, cheese or asparagus.
But of course these is also a big choose in international
oriëntated restaurants.
The city has many different ethnical communities who
next to each other and they all have a special cuisine
from its own : Turkish, Suriname (especially good),
the Maroccan and the Indonesian restaurants are in
many different parts of the city present. And if
you take a walk trough Amsterdam, and China town, you
will see a lot of authentic Chinese restaurants, which
are rather nice and cheap.
They take their time to dine in Holland,
and they start early, around 6 o'clock: many restaurant's
kitchen close at 10. All bills should, by law, include
19 per cent tax and a 15 per cent service charge,
though it's customary to leave a 5 and 10 per cent
if the service was ok. If you have any special requirements,
like child chairs or disabled access, it's always
best to phone the restaurant before going out. It's
also a good idea to make a reservation if you go to
a popular restaurant. We recommend the following
